The Sims is now on Facebook.  The game has been a PC game, app, and now it is on Facebook.  It is currently in the open beta stage, but it already has a ton of players.  The creators of the game hope that the game will get more people to interact in real life to talk about what their Sims characters are doing in the game.  I can definitely see where this would work since your character can become a lover or archenemy of one of your Facebook friends.  My question is if....more...

 
By now everyone should know that it can be a pretty bad idea to date your professor (everyone knew that, right?).  It can be tough to mix business with pleasure when that pleasure may not last until finals week.  Now, I know from personal experience how tough it is to not drool when your professor or TA is straight from GQ.  It can be very tempting to friend your professor so that you can have access to that picture of him playing shirtless volleyball.  My advice? ....more...

 
There was a big announcement this week that Facebook will be joining up with Skype to bring videoconferencing to users.  I'm excited about the possibility of adding more ways to communicate through my main social media site.  I'm wondering how this will influence dating (online dating and long distance dating) as well.  Usually, when two people meet online, they go from email to phone conversations to meeting in public.  Could there be another step in there though?  I....more...
